Lanan Racing Look To Return To LMP3 In 2018 With Norma
Lanan Racing's bid for the GT4 class Championship title in the 2017 British GT
Championship was over in 20 minutes last weekend at Donington Park after contact left the
team's Ginetta G55 in the gravel, with a missing front wheel, and out of both the race and the
Championship hunt.
Team Owner Graham Johnson though was bullish about the future: "Of course that was a
rotten way to finish what's been a brilliant all-season battle but we intend to be back in 2018
for another crack at it with Ginetta."
The Cranfield based team though plan to add another programme in 2018, alongside their
GT4 and single seater efforts.
"I'm planning to come back to LMP3," said Johnson, Lanan Racing having raced already
with some success in the ELMS with a Ginetta and in support of the ARC Bratislava Asian
LMS effort in 2016/17 that so nearly grabbed the title!
"We're in the midst of assessing potential efforts in both the Michelin Le Mans Cup and in
the UK LMP3 Championship but I'm not keen to do it in 'just another' Ligier so we are in
conversation with Norma about what can be done about a new M30 which would help to
shake things upon a little. As always at this point we have some interest from potential
drivers but would be very happy to hear from others."
