Lanan Racing LMP3 Norma, Paul Ricard

Dissapointing debut. Our Norma LMP3 car driven by Michael Benham and Duncan Tappy began the race week at the first Michelin Le Mans Cup race of 2018 at Paul Ricard in southern France, with promising pace.

Qualifying was dry after two days of wet testing. But Michael managed to qualify 8th in the 23 car field, having had little pre season dry running.

After a bumpy start to the race Michael settled down putting in competitive times and staying in touch with the leading pack, but after just 40 minutes of the 2 hour race, the normally bullet proof Nissan V8 engine failed, instantly retiring the car.

The car is now undergoing a full rebuild in preparation for the next round at Monza on May 12thd
