LMP3 at the Red Bull Ring

Race report from Mike Benham - Not quite the result that we wanted, but not a bad weekend overall ... we're more disappointed as our relative pace doesn't appear to be converting into quite the points finishes that we want.. we should have been 4th, but a second last lap lunge by a guy who should know better and needs to know better dropped us two places, which might be important come the end of the year.. whilst DKR seem to be miles ahead in road speed and the championship, there's still a good battle for 2nd which we are in with a good chance of...

The Red Bull Ring is very hard mechanically for the cars and it seems that all teams had their problems one way or another.. in the end we had perhaps no more problems than others although one of ours brought our qualifying to a halt early just as we were winding the pace up.. very frustrating. The team did an amazing job to get the car repaired and back together for the start of the race.. it was close but they got it done.

I was quite happy with my stint, bringing the car home 5th from a start of 10th, with one pro in front as well.. good for confidence in mixed conditions that i have at least reasonable pace compared to the rest of the field.. Passing the championship leader, amongst other notable competitors was very satisfying..

Next time out is Spa in two months time which will be great fun as normal...
